LalanAt - Road Damage Reporting Platform

LalanAt is a civic technology platform that bridges the gap between citizens and local government by providing a streamlined channel for reporting and tracking road damage across municipalities. Built with Next.js and TypeScript for a fast, SEO-friendly frontend and Supabase as the backend-as-a-service for authentication, database, and storage, the application is deployed on Cloudflare for global edge performance.

Citizens can submit road damage reports by uploading geotagged photos, selecting a damage category (pothole, crack, erosion, or structural failure), and pinning the exact location on an interactive map. Each report is assigned a unique tracking ID so reporters can follow its status from submission through verification, scheduling, and repair completion.

Government administrators access a dedicated dashboard where incoming reports are triaged by severity and geographic cluster. The system automatically prioritizes high-traffic roads and areas with multiple overlapping reports, helping public works departments allocate limited repair budgets where they will have the greatest impact. Real-time monitoring charts display repair progress, average response times, and historical trends.

The technical architecture leverages Supabase Realtime for instant updates when a report status changes, Supabase Storage for managing uploaded images with automatic thumbnail generation, and Row Level Security to ensure that only authorized personnel can modify report statuses. The Next.js frontend uses server-side rendering for initial page loads and client-side transitions for a smooth single-page-application feel. Cloudflare provides SSL, caching, and bot protection, keeping the platform fast and secure for thousands of concurrent users.
