Digital Restaurant Menu System

The Digital Restaurant Menu System is a mobile-first ordering platform that lets diners browse the menu, customize their items, and submit an order from their own phone at the table. It is built as a server-rendered Laravel application using Blade templates, with Alpine.js for lightweight interactivity, Bootstrap for the responsive customer-facing layout, an AdminLTE dashboard for restaurant staff, and MySQL for data storage. Vite compiles the frontend assets, and the site is served behind Cloudflare.

The customer flow starts at the table. Diners pick their table number from a live list that shows which tables are currently available, then browse the catalogue split into food and drink sections, each broken down further into subcategories such as rice dishes, noodles, and snacks. A sticky search field filters the whole menu as they type, so a specific dish can be found without scrolling through every category.

Each item opens a detail view with its photo, description, and price, plus a customization step for per-item options and special instructions. Items carry a running sold counter, which doubles as a best-seller signal for indecisive diners. Selections accumulate in a cart that totals the subtotal, delivery fee, and grand total before checkout, so the system serves both dine-in and delivery orders.

Restaurant staff manage the operation through a separate authenticated back office built on AdminLTE, where the menu catalogue, categories, item photos, pricing, availability, and incoming orders are maintained. Rich-text editing, searchable dropdowns, sortable data tables, and drag-and-drop image uploads keep day-to-day content updates quick for non-technical staff, so the menu on the customer's phone always reflects what the kitchen can actually serve.
